General Officials 1874/76: 9 d. red-purple, overprinted O. S. in black, perf. 11½-12½, a fine used example with variety "No Stop after S", used on 1881 Official cover to Sir E. Du Cane in Kingston on Thames endorsed 'pr. John Elder' and countersigned 'M. Jervis' at lower left, tied by 'Adelaide / South Australia' duplex (June) in black. Reverse with Kingston arrival cds (Aug 5) and Royal "Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense / Dieu et Mon Droit" crest in blue. A delightful and extremely rare cover in the foremost quality. Cert.
