1853 (May): Laureated 8 d. dull yellow on medium bluish paper, three single examples used in combination with single 1852 6 d. grey-brown on bluish wove paper, vertically creased by file fold, margins generally fine for these issues, used on 1853 cover, no side flaps, from Sydney to Tamworth endorsed 'per Chusan via Southampton', all tied by mute obliterators in black. Manuscript '2/-' (shillings) credit in red ink on front and 'London / Paid' cds in red (Nov 3). Reverse with 'Sydney / N.S.W.' datestamp (July 28) in black and 'Tamworth' arrival cds in green (Nov 3).
