    Ballon Monté No. 56 1871 (Jan 8): Entire letter to Villeneuve, Gironde endorsed 'par Ballon Monté' franked by Siège 1870 20 c. blue, some aged perfs., lightly cancelled by Paris Star with 'Paris / Corps Legislatif' cds (Jan 8, 7th levée) in black. Carried from beseigned Paris on Ballon "Gambetta" with reverse showing 'Bordeaux a Cette' cds (Jan 15), 'Bordeaux a Irun' cds (Jan 16) and readdressed to Landes on arrival. Small faults but scarce Maury = € 500.
