    Prior to the Siege 1870 (Sept 17): Entire letter from London to beseiged Paris franked by Great Britain 1867 3 d. deep rose pl. 6 (Gi. 102) tied by London duplex with oval 'PD' alongside in red and 'Angl. / Amb. Calais' cds in black (Sept 18). The letter was presumably held as there is a manuscript notation inside "London 17 Sept., Received 20 February", the day after the Armistice. A fine and most unusual entire.
