    1870/71: Bordeaux 40 c. in the rare 'rouge-sang foncé' shade, a fresh and fine example with large to enormous margins all round, tied by '99' gros chiffre to folded letter with "ANGERS 22 MAI 71" cds alongside, sent to Sablé sur Sarthe, reverse with arrival cds (May 23). Stamp detached for expertisation and hinged back, a superb example of this scarce and desirable shade on cover, signed Brun; cert. Roumet (2015) Maury 48h = € 3'000.
