    1858: 4 d. deep blue on white paper, a fine example with just touched to large margins, used on 1858 cover from Burghers-Dorp to care of Forwarding Agent in Cradock, tied by CGH triangular handstamp in black. Fine oval BURGHERS-DORP datestamp of despatch (March 8) in red-brown on front and manuscript "To the care of W. Christen, Port Elizabeth". The notation erased in manuscript when the cover was forwarded to Cape Town, reverse with oval PORT-ELIZABETH datestamp in red (March 12) and 'Cape Town' arrival in red (March 15). File fold well away from adhesive, but a most unusual cover.
