    1842 (Dec 15): Entire letter from Arequipa to Morlaix, France endorsed 'per Grecian Queen' and struck on front with fine MARGATE / SHIP-LRE handstamp in black with manuscript '8' (pence) ship fee, London cds (April 4, 1853) cds on reverse in red. Thence via Calais and charged due '44' in manuscript as whilst single rate in UK, the letter was above 7½ grams and charged double in France. Scarce entire.
