    1862: Napoleon dentelé 10 c. bistre, 20 c. blue with tear at base, 40 c. orange and 80 c. rose, overall fine and fresh with good perfs., tied by light Anchor lozenges to folded letter, sent from Marseille to Aleppo Syria with "VOLGA 28 JUIL 65" shipmail cds and framed PD in black alongside. Some scotch remnants at the edges, but an appealing four colour franking to pay the third weight rate from France to a Levant port. Signed Calves and Goebel.
