Apart 1914 (Dec 16): 2 d. on 10 pf. carmine, a used example on small piece, showing variety "Surcharge Double, One Inverted", tied by part oval RABAUL / NEW BRITAIN oval datestamp (Jan 6 1915) in violet (Gibbs type 8). A rare stamp, Gibbs records no unused examples and just 3 used examples, all on piece (Gibbs 18c, see page 77 and page 75 where this piece is illustrated). A remarkable and extremely rare stamp.
