    1882: 1 s. purple, plate 13, ED, intended for surcharge but never issued, overprinted SPECIMEN type 9, part o.g., one of the rarest unissued Victorian stamp issues with just 16 examples recorded according to Galland/Louis in "Surface printed stamps 1855-1883", page 184, plus this specimen ED which is not mentioned  in the handbook, all of which originate from an upper left pane of 20, lettered AA - ED. Exceedingly rare Gi. K8Cs = £ 8'250.
