    GPU / UPU 1875: Cover from Syros to London, mailed in the first month of the UPU rate, franked by 1872 5 l. dull green on greenish pair and single 20 l. deep blue tied by 'Syra' datestamps (July 19) of despatch with large PD at left in red. The letter endorsed 'via Brindisi' as the new rate was inapplicable via France (joined UPU, Jan 1 1876). Reverse with Kerkyra transit cds (July 22) and London arrivals (Aug 9, gregorian). The envelope with small imperfections but an unusual and early example of the new rate.
