    Mail from Switzerland to Greece 1870: Cover from Glarus to Patras endorsed 'frco. Triest' at lower left, franked by Switzerland 1867 50 c. reddish-violet tied by 'Glarus' cds (Dec 19) with erroneous framed PD in black. Underpaid by 15 cents and marked with AFFR. INSUF in black, the cover travelling via Milan (Dec 18) and Trieste (Dec 24) where again marked INSUFF. in black and '22' applied in blue manuscript for the amount due in kreuzers. From Trieste via Kerkyra (Corfu) with cds on reverse (Dec 16, julian calendar). On arrival in Patras the cover was taxed at '60' lepta in manuscript with 1871 cleaned plate 20 l. and 1868 40 l. mauve on blue applied and tied (Dec 19, julian) in black. A dramatic and extremely rare cover (just five Swiss / Hermes Heads covers are recorded) in superb Exhibition quality. Signed Calves. Cert.
