    Mail from Great Britain 1873: Cover from London to Athens endorsed 'by French Packet', underpaid with 1873 3 d. rose plate 10 (two examples) tied by London duplexes (April 16) and struck with INSUFFICIENTLY / PREPAID in black. Manuscript '45' (lepta) in blue crayon and taxed with 1872/75 5 l. green and 40 l. deep mauve on blued tied by dotted '1' numeral with Athens cds (April 12, julian) on reverse. The 45 lepta charge raised was calculated thus: 115 lepta for an unpaid single letter, less 6 d. = 70 lepta, leaving 45 lepta to pay upon receipt. Small imperfections but a charming and rare cover.
