    Mail from Austria to Greece 1861: Entire letter mailed unpaid from Vienna to Patras, endorsed 'Col Vapore' at top, struck with 'Wien' despatch cds in black (Oct 24), thence carried by Lloyd steamer from Trieste to Patras, with manuscript '15/15' in blue ink (Austrian internal rate 15 kr. + Lloyd ship fee 15 kr.) and further red crayon '110' (lepta) for amount due = 90 lepta + 20 lepta for internal delivery. Franked by 1861 Paris printing 10 l. orange on blued, 20 l. blue and 80 l. carmine on rose, all with good margins, tied by dotted '9' numeral of Patras on arrival (Oct 21, julian). Reverse with Triest transit, Athens cds (Oct 19) and Patras cds. File fold well away from the adhesives, a fine and rare first issue franking used in the first weeks of issue. Illustrated in 'Les Tarifs Helléniques' on page 29.
