    1907/20: Sower 10 c. red, Type IA, used on 1917 cover to Annecy tied by 'Veigy-Foncenex' cds (Jan 6), six days after the single postage rate had increased to 15 centimes due to the War Effort. Taxed on arrival with diagonally bisected Postage Due 10 c. brown overprinted '5' in black, tied by 'Annecy' cds of the following day. In the first few days after the rate change no 'double deficiency' was charged. A rare, if probably philatelic, usage of this provisional Postage Due.
    Semeuse 10 c. rouge Type IA oblit. Veigy-Foncenex 6 janvier 17 pour Annecy, taxée 5 c. avec un timbre taxe de 10 c. brun fractionné diagonalement pour obtenir le nouveau tarif de 15 c. dû à l'effort de guerre. Sans pénalité pour l'affranchissement manquant.
