    1869: 30 c. blue & carmine, a fine single example, two folded perfs. at top mentioned for accuracy, used on 1869 double rate cover to St. Etienne, France neatly tied by segmented cork handstamp in black, endorsed at upper left 'Str. Ville de Paris' of the French Line and struck with 'Paid / New York 24' Exchange Office cds in red (Christmas Day) on despatch and by octagonal ETATS-UNIS / PAQ. FR. H. No. 3 datestamp of the same day in red. Reverse with St. Etienne arrival cds (Jan 6) in black. Unrecorded in the Rose / Searing 1869 census. Attractive and extremely rare. Cert.
