    1865: 2 parale orange, small piece with horizontal pair slightly over-lapping an extremely rare horizontal strip of five, the pair just touched at lower left, the strip of five with huge margins all round and insignificant corner bend at upper left; all cancelled by "Iassi" datestamps (28/9) in black (Kiriac fig. 399). An extraordinarily rare piece with the stamps in a vibrant rich shade and an extremely rare multiple: in all probability the largest known.     Note: Both this and the next lot with the 5 pa. block of four were sent to the Ministry of Justice in Bucharest, this piece was mailed on September 28th, the 5pa. cover being mailed on September 22nd. Both were used to make the normal 20 parale rate and therefore indicate that the 20 pa. value had run short in Jassy during that week.
