Majunga (Madagascar). 1895: 0.15 handwritten in violet ink on each of a pair of 1 fr. French type Sage, tied with cds's "MAJUNGA MADAGASCAR 23 FEVR 95". Right stamp with few short perforations on the lower right side, not distracting from the exclusivity of this unique pair showing fresh colours on white paper. This is one of the exceptional rarities of the French colonies issues. Signed Brun; cert. Behr (2010) Cérès = € 15'000 for two single stamps. A single copy from the William H. Gross auction was sold for $ 2'700 in 2010 (Spink auction May 19, lot # 84).
