    'Cavallini' di Sardegna 1820 (Jan): Entire letter from Vigevano to Torino, internally dated '20 Geno. 1823', embossed with the definitive type of the Cavallo 50 centesimi (Sassone = € 15'000), no postmarks at all. Used in the period of its validity between 1820 and 1836. The lot includes in addition two administrative documents showing imprints of the provisional 1819 cavalini and embossings of the definitive 1820 cavalini. A fine group.

    1850: Tiny prepaid cover to St. Mary's College, Rugby, England endorsed "via Belgium" cancelled by circular ringed GALLARATE despatch in black (June 14), crossed to denote pre-payment with red "P" and London transit cds. Reverse with "COBLENZ / COELN" transit. A delightful cover.
