    1923/24: Vehici Hurkus Air Service. Document with red illustration of Hurkus's aeroplane (a Caproni Italia B1) with arabic script below reading 'Our passenger aircraft which will soon start to carry passengers' (the service was due to link Edirne with Izmir) with a local philatelist's use of 1924 Lausanne issue 1½ pi., 4½ pi., 5 pi and 7½ pi adhesives tied by SMYRNE octagonal datestamps (Jan 6, 1924). A scarce document and a fine ancillary item for a service from which no covers exist. Ex collection Bill Robertson.
