    1858 (Aug 28): Entire letter from Trieste (note sender's cachet at top left), carried on board steamer and mailed on arrival in Constantinople (Sept 3) with Austria 1850/54 3 kr. rose red over-lapped by 9 kr. blue tied by manuscript crayon cross denoting pre-payment has been accepted (not stricly according to regulations but correct 12 kreuzer rate). Struck with CONSTANTINOPEL cds in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 387) and sent on to Salonica. Rare.
