    Mafia Island / Handstamped "G.R. / MAFIA" in black 1915 (Jan): German East Africa 4 h. green, handstamped "G.R. / MAFIA" in reddish violet, a fine unused block of four, marginal from top of sheet, all handstamped but light impressions, one additionally initialled "JDM" by Lt. Col. J.D. Mackay, Governor of Mafia Island in manuscript ink. Fresh appearance and very rare, slight aging on unmounted og. not impacting on the appearance. Probably just 200-300 stamps overprinted in total, considerably less inialled by Mackay, a rare and exceptional multiple. Signed Holcombe. Cert.
