    1889: 2 d. postal stationery registered envelope, size F, used to London and up-rated with 1884/91 4 d. deep mauve, tied by good strike of scarce "APPAM / GOLD COAST" code C cds (Aug 21) in black - believed to be the earliest recorded usage. Repeated information strike at left, "Cape Coast" transit cds (Aug 22) and Liverpool and London datestamps all on obverse. Some minor wrinkles but scarce.
