    Egypt, Austrian Lloyd Agency in Alexandria 1846 (Sept 24): Entire letter written from the Sardinian consul in Alexandria to the one in Syra, struck on front with perfect impression of oval framed "AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO / Alessandria" in blue (Tranmer fig. 3). Reverse with cachet of the consul of Sardinia and wreathed Greek SYRA (Nov. 16) arrival cds. The entire was fully prepaid until the harbour of disembarkation and a '20' (lepta) due was noted in red crayon to pay the residual journey. It shows in addition two disinfection slits, the upper one touching the strike without impairing it. Vertical and horizontal file fold, not distracting at all from this sensational and extremely rare entire. Cert.
