1842 (July 5): Cover from Lima to Bordeaux with reverse flap showing "Panama August 1842 forwarded by F.W. Byrne" in manuscript. Struck in transit with KINGSTON / JAMAICA cds (Oct 10) in black and on arrival in London with framed "Packet Letter" in red and charged at 3/2d. due to pay (altered from 2/3d.) with eventual French charge of 2 décimes in manuscript. Small flap fault but a scarce routing a Ship Letter would have cost a mere 8d. due.Ausruf : 120 CHFZuschlag : 600 CHF -
