    1870 (July 28): Great Britain 1867 3 d. rose pl. 5 and 1 s. green pl. 4, used on 1870 registered cover from St. Thomas to Philadelphia tied by bold "C51" obliterator  with circular 'St. Thomas / Paid' cds and rare oval "REGISTERED / ST. THOMAS" both in red (July 28). "New York / Registered" transit in black (Aug 17) also ties the 3 d. adhesive.
