    Third Printing Group 1868/70: ½ real deep blue (dry print) on white wove paper, a fine example with four large margins, paying the internal rate on 1871 cover to Paris, France tied by "Quito / Franca" datestamp in red (Jan 18). Reverse with GUAYAQUIL British P.O. cds in black (Jan 26), circular dated PANAMA / TRANSIT on obverse (Feb 3) in black. Thence carried by British Packet with London transit cds (Feb 27) and "GB / 1F 90c." Anglo-French accountancy marking applied in black. Charged with handstruck '12' décimes due to pay on arrival (Paris at this date under Prussian Occupation). An exceptional and extremely rare cover to a Transatlantic destination.
