    1864/71: 1 d. carmine-vermilion, single example used on complete Newspaper 'The Waikouatiti Herald / Hawksbury, Palmerston, Hampden and General Goldfields Advocate' used from Waikouatiti to Gainford, Darlington, UK tied by numeral "05" obliterator in black. Carried via Panama on the 'Kaikoura'. Corner of front panel torn away but an item of great rarity, with just two recorded Newspaper frankings with Chalon heads known. Cert.
