    1845 (July 13): Entire letter from Arequipa, Peru to Morlaix, France, endorsed 'p. Panama' at lower left, with manuscript Forwarding Agent's notation on reverse "Acheminé de Lima le 5 Août 45 par vos bien dévoués serviteurs et amis, Thomas La Chambre et Co." and notation of weight '23.5' grams on obverse at left. Superb strike of double ring "PANAMA / *" Consular Office datestamp in red (Aug 21) dated 1843 altered to 1845 in manuscript with framed "P.P." below. Mailed prepaid via England with 'Angl. Boulogne' on front (Oct 5) and Morlaix arrival (Oct 8). Charged in manuscript on reverse at 5 francs 80 centimes. Rare and very fine entire.
