    'Mafeking Besieged' on Stamps of the British Bechuanaland 1900 (March 29): Surcharged 1 s. on 4 d. green & purple-brown, used example on piece showing variety: "Surcharged Double" (both Type 1) clearly, each with surcharge variety 'Without Comma after Mafeking' (Type V), cancelled by MAFEKING / C.G.H. datestamp (March 31) in black. Extremely rare and very fine with just 5 examples recorded, one of which is housed in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and probably unique with the 'missing Comma' variety.
