    1871: Cover sent stampless to Cape Town, reverse showing oval 'His Excellency the Governor of the Cape of Good Hope' embossed flap in brown, struck with superb and rare oval DIAMOND FIELDS datestamp in black with circular dated CAPE TOWN / CAPE COLONY cds of receipt (March 16) at left in black. Minor stains and small tear to envelope at top but a remarkable and attractive cover.
