    1855/63: 1 s. deep dark green on white paper, a fine example with good to large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at left, used on 1863 cover to Scotland endorsed 'per Mail Steamer Briton', tied by CGH obliterator in black. 'London / Paid' cds in red at left (April 29) and '10' rate credit in red crayon. Reverse with oval framed PORT ELIZABETH datestamp of despatch (March 17) in red, circular CAPE TOWN / CAPE OF GOOD HOPE datestamp in red (March 21) and Stirling arrival cds (April 29) in black. One side flap missing and some slight buckling at edges but a scarce cover.
