    1855/63: 1 d. deep rose-red on cream paper, a used example on 1865 Soldier's concessionary rate cover to Hertford, from a Private in the 96th Regiment, correctly counter-signed by Commanding Officer at left, tied by numeral "3" barred oval obliterator in black. Reverse with part of flap missing but with part of Grahsmstown oval, obverse with 'Cape Town / Cape Colony' cds (Feb 11) in black and London cds in red (March 19) with Hertford arrival cds in black alongside.
