Setting 2 / GRI and Value 5 mm. Apart 1914 (Dec 16): 2 d. on 20 pf. ultramarine, Setting 2, position 5, the extraordinary unused vertical pair, marginal from top right hand corner of the sheet, with upper stamp "GRI / 2 d." and the lower stamp se-tenant with error of surcharge "GRI / 2½ d.", the pair somewhat dried and slightly soiled due to 'Blitz' damage, with two minor bends mentioned for accuracy and dried large part og. A fantastic and extremely rare pair, just three unused pairs are recorded (all with 2 d. above the 2½ d.), one housed in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the other (the adjoining pair) was in the Gibbs collection and the third pair is offered here.
