1844: Entire letter written by Mrs. E. C. Ommaney from Picton (May 24) to Bedford, England struck with glorious strike of framed PAID / AUSTRALIND handstamp with manuscript date "30th May", with "Crown / GENERAL / POST OFFICE / PERTH" handstamp in black below. Reverse with straight line SHIP LETTER in black and rated '8' pence on receipt for a Ship Letter, London cds in red (Oct 14) alongside. Front with 'Bedford' arrival cds in black. Small closed tear through the 'Australind' handstamp but probably the finest entire known with this rare cancellation.
