    1866: 4 r. red, a diagonally bisected example used on May 26, 1869 entire letter from Guayaquil to Lima, Chavez correspondence. Originally franked by complete 4 r. this was removed and the stamp bisected to pay the correct rate of 2 reales, tied by dotted FRANCA lozenge in red. Reverse with Guayaquil Company cachet in blue and Lima arrival cds (May 2). A rare entire.
