    French Post Offices 1862 (March 14): Double rate cover from Jaffa to Baron de Vesquel Westernach, Chamberlain to the King of Bavaria in Munich, struck with fine strike of pearled JAFFA / SYRIE datestamp in black and superb POSTE FRANCAISE / JERUSALEM Cross handstamp in blue alongside. Reverse with 'Alexandrie' cds of transit (March 16), three French TPO's and framed 'Munchen' arrival in black where charged 42 kreuzers due. A fine cover to a most unusual destination for a 'Jerusalem Cross' cover.
