    1853: 80 c. carmine on yellowish, two examples, one folded over top of cover, used on 1854 single rate cover from Bordeaux to Melbourne via Suez, with Bordeaux cds at right (Dec 6) and framed PD in oxidised ink. Via London with 'Paid' tombstone datestamp in red (Jan 3, 1855) and thence via Malta to Alexandria carried on the 'Valletta'. From Suez carried by the 'Ganges' to Singapore where again transhipped to the 'Norma' arriving in Melbourne (March 28) where struck with '1d.' Colonial Fee in red. Imperfections but a very scarce destination at this date.
