    Peru 1853: 20 c. blue and 40 c. pale orange, fine large margined examples used on 1854 entire letter at single rate per French ship from Le Havre to Lima, endorsed 'pr. Mussa Pacha', tied by 1495 petit chiffres struck in red with 'Bureau Maritime / Havre' cds below (Oct 19) and framed PD in same ink (the use of red ink at Le Havre is only known between July and October 1854). No arrival but docketed inside on reply (Jan 1855). A rare and particularly attractive entire. Signed Roumet, Certs. Roumet (1980), von der Weid (1997).
