    1779 (May 15): Lettersheet from Will Douglas in Gothenburg to Newbush near Fiherrow Edinburg in Great Britain, showing '1' one shilling rate postage due for mail from Northern Europe to the UK, '8/IV' London Bishop mark and 'IV/8' Edinburgh Bishop marks on reverse, 'IN7' manuscript additional fee to destination and 'Inn all' marking. Interesting.

    1790 (Oct 9): Entire letter from Carlshamm / Karlshamn, Sweden to Dunkirk, with superb strike of scarce large DE HOLANDE exchange handstamp in black (Van der Linden fig. 946) struck at Maseyck, with manuscript '14' sols rate; together with a 1795 entire from Hamburg to Bordeaux with the 'DE' now erased and reading HOLANDE, well struck in black (Van der Linden fig. 1717) and rated '12' sols. A scarce pair.
