Sonora 1913: Sonora imperforate 1 c. black & red in a horizontal pair with single 3 c. black & red, used on 1913 cover to the US Vice Consul in Nogales tied by 'Magdalena / Sonora' cds's (June 30), with arrival cds of Nogales on reverse. A very scarce issue on letter.
1915/17: 5 peso pale blue & lake, an imperforate block of four of the vignette only in blue and a further imperforate block of four in issued colour from top of sheet with dropped vignette, each fresh and fine with superb large part or unmounted og. Gi 301b + 301b var.

New Granada 1861: 5 c. orange-buff, a fine used example with large even margins all round, cancelled by "0" weight marking in red. Minor bend of no importance at top left, an attractive stamp Gi 12.
1873: Lithographed 1 p. dull yellow, an unused example, Lind / Goodman Type 1 with break in bottom line prior to figure of value, apparently retouched heavily on "PE" of "PESO", this unrecorded in Goodman. Unused without gum, an unusual stamp Scott = $ 350.

Puebla 1861: ½ r. black on buff, a superb used horizontal pair, on 1862 cover to Puebla, cancelled by bold strike of framed "TECAMA / CHALCO" handstamp in black (Schatzkes fig. 1228) with manuscript date 'Julio 29' below. A fine and attractive cover.
1859 (July 6): Entire letter from Cartagena to New York, doubly forwarded, with oval "FORWARDED BY / RAMON LEON SANCHEZ / CARTAGENA N.G." in orange-red and rare oval "From / T.R. COWAN / SHIPPING & COMMISSION AGENT / COLON NEW GRANADA" in red and carried outside the mails to destination.
French Occupation 1786 (July 14): Entire letter from St. Louis North to Cap (Cap Français) rated '1' (escalin) in manuscript struck with superb LE PORT ST. LOUIS straight line handstamp in sepia. Rare - first year of use (Jamet 1 = 5 pts).
1867: ½ r. black on rose, unused example (3), all of good colour and large margins, one corner marginal from lower left corner of the sheet. A scarce group. All signed Todd AIEP Gi 7 = £ 180+/Scott = $ 180+.
1928 (Oct. 22): Primer Correo Aereo Peru - Ecuador - Colombia, envelope franked with Peru adhesives 2c. and 10c. cancelled by Paita cds. together with SCADTA machine ovpt. 'PE' on 5c., 10c. and 15c. tied by special SCADTA cachet of Paita, backstamped "Barranquilla 25.X.1928" on reverse.
Corrientes 1875/76: (3 c.) black on pinkish rose-lilac (Kneitschel #11), a complete pane of eight subjects (4 x 2) with ample to close margins, all cancelled by "Corrientes" datestamps (Sept 13, 1876). Rare Gi P67 = £ 1'200/Scott = $ 560+.
1861/62: Recess by Perkins Bacon, 10 c. bright blue, an unused block of four with narrow to touched margins all round, of fine rich colour, superb large part og. A rare and not unattractive multiple Gi 31.
1850 (Jan 1): 10 r. grey-black on greyish paper, an unused block of eight (2 x 4) with good to large margins all round, but rub across centre, fresh and fine, unused without gum. A scarce multiple.
1896/97: Locomotive 10 p. deep blue, wmk. 'RM' script, Jean de Sperati Forgery, a fine used example with 'Sperati / Reproduction' handstamp in violet on reverse. Scarce and a particularly excellent piece of work by the master forger.

1850c.: Prepaid cover to Valparaiso struck with two strikes of COCHABAMBA despatch, FRANCA and rare ESTERIOR handstamps in red with '5' (cents) rate marking for amount to collect on delivery. Central fle fold but a charming and extremely rare cover.
1848 (Aug 10): Cover from Pernambuco to London endorsed 'per Thomas Battersby - L'pool' struck on arrival with fine KINSALE / SHIP LETTER in blue charged '8' (pence) in manuscript for incoming Ship Letter. Reverse with Kinsale cds in blue (Oct 20) and London arrival cds (Oct 22) in red.
1870: 5 c. yellow and 1874 10 c. violet (Type I) used on May 1874 double rate entire letter to Bogotá, tied by "Medellin" manuscript despatch cancellation. Fresh and fine, a very scarce mixed issue franking. Cert. Moorhouse (2016).

1878: Proofs (4) by the National Bank Note Co. for the postal stationery wrapper, printed on thin India paper (approx 40 x 45 mm.) in blue, green, brown and issued colour of red. Scarce H&G E1.
1848: Cover endorsed 'De Oficio' on reverse mailed to Havana and struck with good strike of scarce oval framed ALACRANES handstamp (Matanzas Province) in black. "1" real rate mark in red at left and Havana arrival in red (July 7) on reverse.

1863: First Issue 2 r., lithographed Imperforate Colour Trials (5), printed in pale brown, sky blue, carmine, yellowish-bistre and pale lilac, all on wove paper with large margins all round. A scarce and most attractive group.
1870c.: Official cover to Alajutla struck with oval framed HEREDIA handstamp of despatch in black. One or two minor worm holes but rare: see Frajola & Mayer page 34 for an illustration of a similar cover.

1931: VARIG Icarus set of ten values, large size (200%) Die Proofs in black for all ten values from 50 r. to 10'000 r., imperforate on thick card and defaced by black cross on each, minor aging but of great rarity.
