    Typographed from Woodblocks by Samuel Calvert 1857: 6 d. orange-yellow, serpentine roulette 10-10½ and REGISTERED 1 s. rose-pink & blue, serrated roulette 7-9 at top, used on 1857 cover to Scotland tied by barred numeral "1" obliterator of Melbourne in black. Carried by the "City of Sydney" as far as Suez. Reverse with Melbourne despatch datestamp (Nov 16) and Dundee arrival (Jan 16, 1858). Obverse with handstruck "d6" (pence) in black to collect alongside oval "REGISTERED / G.P.O." in red. The sole recorded cover with this combination and most attractive. Certs.
