    Issued at Old Calabar 1893 (Dec): 'HALF / PENNY' surcharged in green on Great Britain 2½ d. purple on blue, a single example used with July 1892 2 d. grey-green & carmine (2) on registered 1894 cover to Great Ormond Street, London, each stamp tied by bold "OLD CALABAR" squared circle datestamp (Nov 28) with oval "Registered / Old Calabar" datestamp at left. Liverpool transit (Jan 14, 1895) and reverse with London arrival of the same day. A scarce and most attractve cover.rnProvenance: Cavendish, Derby, 11-12 March 1994, lot 97.
