    1893 (Feb 25): Provisional 40 pa. handstamp on GB ½ d. vermilion, a fine used example on 1893 cover to Middlesborough tied by "C" barred obliterator in black, reverse with "British Post Office / Constantinople" code C datestamp (Feb 25, First Day of Issue). Fine and very scarce thus. Cert. RPSL (2002).
