    1852 (Sep. 19): Envelope from Toronto to Boston bearing 1855/57 Beaver 3 d. brown-red on handmade wove paper in a vertical pair, a multiple with good margins all round and fresh colour, tied by seven ring target obliterator with despatch "TORONTO CANADA PAID SP 19 1852" cds, straight line PAID and matching framed CANADA in arc exchange office handstamp, all in red alongside. Reverse with arrival cds (Jan. 25). A clean and fine cover, cert. V. G. Greene (1987).
