    1876: Envelope with an insured value of 6'400 francs from Lannion to Hénanbihen, bearing Sage 20 c. brown lilac, a pair and a strip of three, 1 fr. bronze, six singles, all in type I and 10 c. black on rose, type II, all stamps with fresh colours, tied by despatch "LANNION COTES-DU-NORD 8 NOV. 80" cds, CHARGÉ in red alongside. Reverse with timbre indicatif de chargement, Rennes transit and arrival cds of the next day. Cover with minor toning and few nibbed perfs, nevertheless an impressive mass franking. rnNote: The total postage include the letter rate of 45 c. for a triple rate item, a fixed rate of 25 c. and an insured value fee of 10 c. for each 100 fr. or parts thereof, in this case 640 c., in total 710 c. correctly franked. The receiver of this value letter is Joseph Édouard de La Motte-Rouge (1804-1883), a general during the Crimean and Franco-Prussian War.
