    New Guinea, Stamps of Australia overprinted 1919/22: Registered Cover from Rabaul to Leipzig, Germany bearing 1919 Kangaroo 6 d. greyish ultramarine and 1922 KGV 1 d. violet, tied by "RABAUL 23 AP 23 NEW BRITAIN" cds ('N' of 'BRITAIN' reversed) with registration handstamp in violet alongside, reverse with Leipzig (-3.7.23) arrival cds. A couple of small repaired tears, registered covers from the expensive 4 d. letter rate period up to 30.9.1923 are very scarce.
