    1868: 4 d. carmine, wmk. Crown CC, perf. 12½, FOUR PENCE with Thin Bar surcharge (A), an irregular unused block of twenty-four with second stamp showing "Clogged R" variety with this error being repeated in the second stamp at the base of the block (positions 79-81 / 91-96 / 103-108 / 115-120 / 127-130), of beautiful fresh colour, sold together with a further single example of the "Clogged R" variety (pos. 176) showing the major re-entry at right. The block is of lovely freshness and dramatic appearance, the vertical rows and varieties enabling the specialist to determine the size of the surcharge Setting, large part or unmounted og.
