    "Split Rates" 1865: Cover from London to Mrs. Higginson, wife of the Governor of Mauritius, endorsed "via Marseilles" franked by 1865/67 4 d. vermilion pl. 7 and 6 d. lilac pl. 5 tied by 'London / 87' duplex (July 26). Carried on the P&O steamer "Ripon" to Alexandria and the "Norna" from Suez with Mauritius arrival cds (Aug 24) on reverse. Struck with "4½d." credit marking for amount due to Mauritius in red. A fine and scarce cover.
