    1881/82: Chilean Arms overprinted on Peru 1 c. orange and 10 c. green, used on single weight 1882 cover from Lima to France, tied by 'Lima / Principal' double ring cds (Feb 12) in black. Octagonal French Paquebot datestamp PANAMA - UNION / PAQ. F. D. No. 3 in black (Feb 22) alongside (Salles fig. 1502) and reverse with arrival cds (March 22). A wonderful and extremely rare cover: there are belived to be just 24 covers recorded bearing this issue.

    Peruvian Government / Arequipa 1883: Fiscal 10 c. brick-red imperforate, used on November 1883 cover to Lima (the Peace Treaty of Ancon had been signed a two weeks before) with circular blue 'Arequipa' overprint tied by AREQUIPA straight line handstamp in black. The stamp shows the major plate variety 'without ornaments' in the lower corners below 'Diez' at left and 'Centavos' at right. Rare - see Puppo pages 46 and 47. Cert. RPS (1982).

    Peruvian Government / Puno 1882: Covers (4) and Large Pieces (2), Fiscal 10 c. blue imperforate (2) and single 10 c. ultramarine overprinted with circular 'Puno' in violet, 10 c. pale blue overprinted 'Provisional 1881-1882' all used on registered cover to Cajata, Huancané (cert. Holcombe), cover from same correspondence with 1881 10 c. blue (5) sent registered with two stamps showing evidence of re-use (signed Puppo and Darteyre), 1881 10 c. blue, bisected usages on covers to Arequipa (one signed Puppo), two large pieces with 'Puno' overprinted 10 c. blue and 25 c. rose, the latter in pairs.     Civil War / District of Arequipa 1885: Cover from Mollendo to Tacna franked by horizontal pair of 5 c. olive overprinted by circular 'Arequipa' handstamps in black. Dated on despatch in mansucript at lower left '21/7/85' and reverse with 'Arica / Chile' and 'Tacna / Chile' datestamps (July 22) in black (both towns secured from Peru as a result of the Chile-Peru War). Small tear in front panel but an extremely scarce usage on letter. Signed Puppo.

    Civil War / District of Arequipa 1885: Cover from Mollendo to Santiago, Chile franked by horizontal pair of 5 c. olive overprinted by circular 'Arequipa' handstamps in black and also struck with oval MOLLENDO handstamp in black. The cover was crossed in blue crayon as the franking was unaccepted and struck with Chilean MULTADA / 10 Cts. / IQUIQUE in black with rate in manuscript. Reverse with 'Iquique / Chile' cds (Aug 27) and Santiago horseshoe arrival (Sept 2) in black. Scarce.

Die Proofs and a fine run of covers including 5 registered usages, Chile War issues with a range of interesting covers, group of Chilean stamps used in Peru, extensive run of Provisisonal District and Town overprints incl. covers, 1894 Bermudez specialised selection with varieties and covers, 1895 'Tumbes' provisional set of five unused (2) and used (2), 1895 set of seven 'Specimen' and unused (5 sets), 1896/1900 issue with 'Specimens' and covers, fine run of sets from 1901, incl. 1907 set 2s. mint (Scott = $ 493), thereafter with near complete mint and used including 1915 surcharges incl. varieties, 1918 set of eleven mint, 1921 1 c. olive-brown and red-brown with variety "Centre Inverted" mint and same variety in a rare block of six affected by aging (Scott 222a = $ 3'600), 1932/34 set mint and used, 1936/37 pictorial sets to 10 s., largely complete thereafter with many mint sets and singles through to 1995. Also a group of Scandinavian Slogan cancellations in two volumes. A splendid Peru collection of high catalogue value with some fine Postal History.

    1883/1932: Collection of Postal Stationery in three albums, from the 1883 Coat of Arms issue onwards, largely complete with duplication including 1899 embossed 1 c. cards with violet illustrations (4 different + 2 used), 2 c red cards with illustrations (9 different + 1 used), 3 c. blue-black cards with illustrations (8 different + 2 used), 4 c. brown with illustrations (9 different - two with same picture but labelled as different towns on the cards + 3 used); 1900 illustrated cards and later issues to circa 1914, 1882 Military Occupation stationery envelopes with 'Caja Fiscal de Lima' handstamps and 'Lima' controls etc., collection of used examples with duplication and some up-rated, including scarce 1885 50 c. red envelope used etc. A largely complete and generally fine collection.
